My name is Karis Pritchard I go to school at Waldron High School,
Track wasn't necessarily the sport I looked at when I was younger. One reason for that would have been, because it wasn't really a option. I live in a really small town, and at young ages there aren't opportunities for sports like track or volleyball. In sixth grade I went to a speed and agility class that one of my dads friends was coaching. I was kinda scared when I got there, because I didn't believe I was fast enough or coordinated enough for the foot work and latter drills we would be doing. By the end of class I had out ran most of the boys and all the girls. That was the first time I finally realized that track was going to be a sport I looked into once I was at a age that I was able to enter into track. As I have entered in to my track career I am slowly starting to set more goals for myself, and realizing what I have to do to accomplish them. There has been a lot of events that have inspired me to push to get a good scholarship. My mom could have earned a great scholarship in high school. Sadly instead she chose to chase after drugs and guys. I have taught myself that I could either push myself or I could end up like my mom. I have chose to chase my dreams and pursue my talent.
