I first started running when I was 8 years old and at the time it was something I enjoyed doing for fun!! It wasn't until my freshmen year of high school that I realized I had a true passion for running. My freshmen year I pushed my hardest and never gave up and through this mentality I was able to achieve great things. At the end of my freshmen year I received a varsity letter for xc, soccer, and track along with rookie of the year award, MVP, and jockey club award. However, it wasn't until my sophomore and junior year that I began to deal with a lot of adversity.
Most of my sophomore and junior year were taken away from injuries caused by club soccer. I never thought I'd be able to overcome this point in my life and continue to do what I love. At this lowest point, I decided to quit soccer and focus on running. Through physical therapy and training I have been able to keep healthy, mentally and physically. Now I am determined more than ever to win back my title as league champion and continue on to state.
I see myself as a well-rounded student athlete due to my determination in my sport and school. I maintain a 4.3 GPA and higher, while taking honors and AP classes. When I am not in school I spend my time volunteering through National Honors society and the women's R.O.S.E academy or with family and friends. I believe I would be a great asset to your school because I know what it is like to overcome challenges and work my way up from rock bottom.
