I started competing in track and field in seventh grade and improve every year. My goal is to continue to excel, and with time, hopefully compete at the collegiate level.
I train year round, demonstrating my dedication and passion for the sport, and work with different coaches with various focuses and expertise. I have speed that allows for farther and higher jumping, and I have a strong endurance to finish the longer sprints. I always encourage others and remain optimistic in addition to often mentoring and coaching my teammates in various events. I work hard and put in the time to better myself as an athlete and it will show when training in college. I enjoy and look forward to my continued development as a leader and an athlete in the sport.
While I love running track, it falls second to my academics. I understand that my education will be the bedrock from which to build my life, and competitive sports, while rewarding and fulfilling, has a short shelf life. The rest of my time is spent with my family, friends, and on other school activities that I enjoy such as Journalism, Interact, Life Crew (commissioner), and volunteering at the Youth Activity Center in the summers.
My education is most important, with track and field a close second. It is my hope to pursue both at an institution that exceeds in both.
