Hi Coach,
My name is Laila Nùñez and I am a four-sport student-athlete at Rowland High School in Rowland Heights, California. As a student-athlete, it is important I attend a school where I feel I belong, and one that values excellence and diversity both on and off the field. Currently, I am an AVID honor roll student and am involved in my school's ASB leadership committee as Commissioner of Athletics. In the fall, I'll begin my senior year and will graduate in 2025. Although I'm currently undecided on a major, it's important I also attend a college that offers a variety of undergraduate programs.
Since freshman year, I've been a member of the varsity softball, volleyball, track and cross country high school teams. Last fall, I earned my spot as a starter for my high school's varsity volleyball ream and was recognized as a scholar athlete with a 3.67 GPA. My dream is to attend a 4-year university. As a well-rounded athlete, I understand the level of expectation, hard work, and commitment needed and I truly believe I have what it takes to play college sports. I always try to lead by example, be the best at everything I do, and serve as a strong role model for my younger brother. I always try and encourage my peers to do the same.
I am a Christian and attend Calvary Chapel Golden Springs church. In my spare time, I enjoy reading graphic novels, listening to music, binge watching the newest season of Stranger Things and going to the movies with my friends and family.
