My name is Amanda Schnabel. Sports have always been a big part of my life, and I cannot imagine what my life would be like if I had not done sports. I started sports at a young age and did competitive gymnastics for eight years. After gymnastics I did basketball and competitive varsity cheerleading for a few years. My sophomore year of high school I decided to join the track and field team and started as a sprinter. Towards the end of the season I was asked by one of the coaches if I wanted to try hurdles. I really enjoyed hurdling, and it was the first time since gymnastics that I was passionate about a sport. I then went on to train harder and more seriously for my junior year. Now I want to continue to grow as a track and field athlete by being apart of a team in college.
Not only am I an athlete, but I am a student. I have attained a 4.0 gpa or higher throughout high school so far. I aspire not only do great in my sport but also in my academics. I want to stay connected with the sports world by studying sports medicine, physical therapy, or something related. I am also open to anything related to the science or medical field. This would allow me to combine the two aspects of my life that make me who I am; my sports life and my academic life.
