My name is Lauren Despres and I am a senior at Canyon Crest Academy in San Diego, California. I have been running since I was 12 years old and I have fallen in love with the sport ever since. I aspire to play at the collegiate level for track and field because I cannot imagine my life without running.
I am very hardworking and determined to improve my times, I put in my 100% effort during practices. I am coachable and I work well in a team environment. I am naturally competitive which contributes to my strive to win and to do the best I possibly can on and off the track.
I have a quick start from the blocks and I am very optimistic when going into races. I believe that by putting in time, effort, hunger to improve, and a positive mindset are necessary for success.
Some of my accomplishments in track include winning League finals in the 100m 2 years in a row and earning the first team All Avocado West League for track. I earned the Rookie of the Year award in my freshman year and MVP my sophomore year. I currently hold 5 school records for the 100m, 200m, 4x100 relay, 4x200 relay and the sprint medley relay.
I would love to attend a college where I can give my all in the classroom and on the track.
