Hi, my name is Taylor Martinez, and I am currently a Junior at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California. Since the age of five, I have been deeply committed to high-level team sports, as well as being a Girl Scout. These experiences have shaped me into a disciplined, team-oriented, well-rounded, and determined student-athlete.
In the offseason, I am presently a team captain of the LA Surf 08/07 DPL club soccer team, and I strive to lead by example, motivate my teammates, and foster a strong sense of unity both on and off the field.
When I entered high school, I decided to broaden my athletic journey by trying out for Track and Field. My freshman year, I earned a spot on the Varsity team and was placed in starting positions for both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. I am known for my determination and competitiveness when it comes to the finish line, because I love to challenge myself.
Last and this season, I was honored to receive the MVP Sprinter award at Notre Dame High. I have competed in the State Finals for three consecutive years and advanced to CIF Masters this season, and achieved the following:
Mission League Champion 400m, 4x100m relay (2025)
Most Valuable Sprinter Award Notre Dame High School (2024 and 2025)
League Champion in the 400m, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay (2023 and 2024)
League Runner-up in the 200m (2023, 2024, and 2025)
Most Valuable Frosh Player Award Notre Dame High (girls soccer) (2023)
This year, I am motivated to improve my times and break my personal records.
Outside of sports, I’m passionate about advocacy and inclusion. My younger sister is physically and mentally disabled, and growing up alongside her has inspired me to use my voice for those who don’t always have the same opportunities as others. I’ve worked closely with the City of Burbank to promote accessibility in public spaces—first by helping install a handicap-accessible swing in a local park, and later by advocating for an entire playground to be redesigned to accommodate children of all abilities. This experience taught me the power of community engagement and how meaningful change starts with a single voice and a clear purpose.
Every time I step onto the field or line up on the track, I carry her with me. I run for her. Her strength, joy, and resilience remind me daily not to take a single stride for granted. She is my greatest motivation and the heart behind everything I do.
I would love for you to follow my journey and watch my progress as I continue to push myself toward new accomplishments—both on the field and in the community.

All my best,
Taylor Martinez
