I started running freshman year because my friend wanted to try out for cross country but didn't know anyone on the team. I decided to try it out and, to my complete surprise, absolutely fell in love with running. Running gives me an opportunity to wind down after a difficult day, to build community with others, and to push myself to see how far I can go. I give my best effort every time I run, whether it's an easy base run bonding with the team or a hard track workout. I love to put myself in situations where I am challenged mentally and physically. I take lots of advanced and AP classes, which teach me self-discipline and how to keep trying when things get hard, which I have directly applied to my running career. I would love to continue pushing myself and working hard in a future collegiate team.
