My name is Katie Fankhouser and I am competitive athlete involved in a variety of sports. I am a Junior, honors student at Lyons Middle Senior High School. My position on the USA Freestyle Kayak team and my 2018 Colorado 2A Cross Country State Champion title have earned me many awards such as the John Lynch, "Star of The Month" award as well as a nomination for the Kayak Session Magazine U-21 female paddler of the year in 2018 and 2019. My experience has made me into the determined and competitive athlete I am today. Outside of athletics I enjoy uni-cycling, playing the ukulele, and blogging about my many outdoor adventures. Though I am only 17 years old, I have already been to, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Canada, France, Spain and Andora. I run my own dog walking/ pet sitting business in order to support my world travels. You can read more about my experiences here.
I am looking for a school where I can study engineering, improve my running abilities and continue to enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle.
