Hi my name is Krystal Rodriguez. I was born in Miami, Fl in 2003. I have a passion for running, learning, and competing. When I was 8 years old I began training and competing in gymnastics. In 6th and 8th grade I also ran cross country but concentrated mainly on my gymnastics training and competition at that time. I stopped training\competing in gymnastics at the age of 13 and started running during the summer with my summer club team.
I love running and learning from my coaches. Competition drives me to want to be better. I now run for my club during the AAU summer season and for Coral Reef High School during the high school season. I currently compete in Cross Country, 1600m, 1500m, 800m, 4x800m, and 4x400m relay. I qualified for the Fl High School State Finals in Cross Country my freshman, sophomore, and junior year in high school. My junior year in cross country I was district and regional champion along with earning a medal at the state championship race finishing in 7th place. I also qualified for the Fl High School Track and Field State Championship as a freshman and as a sophomore. My sophomore year I was a double medalist at the state championships finishing in 6th place in both the 800m and 1600m. I also broke my high schools record in the 800m, 1600m, and in cross country. I am looking forward to continuing to work with my coaches to learn from them to improve my times.
I am a hard worker who has a team first mentality. My goal is to continue to improve and be better with the help of my teammates and coaches. I'm also working hard in school to ensure I have good grades as I know education is important. I'm part of the art magnet program in high school and have been in art magnet since third grade. My goal is to one day have the honor to run track and field\cross country at the collegiate level. I would also like to major in a subject in the medical field and possibly double major in visual arts in college\university.
