My name is Grace O’Malley from the Community School of Naples in Naples, FL. I am interested in your cross country and track programs starting in 2021 and 2022, as I am entering my senior year. I love running and have always wanted to pursue this dream in college. I compete mostly in distance events, and I have been to three state championships individually for xc/track. After my most recent appearance at States, I was nominated number one female for the 5k in Collier County, earning me the title of “Runner of the Year” during the All-Area Sports Awards.
Additionally, I am a twin to Maria O’Malley, who is also interested in joining me to run at a collegiate level. I am a part of a big family, one of nine siblings. My family supports my competition and has taught me to be both dedicated and independent. Having a twin has had a huge impact on me because she pushes me while I push her, and everything is a competition for us no matter if it’s who gets the fastest times or earns the best grades.
My goal for High School is to be able to continue my passion for running in college because I love running and I love racing and I could never go two days without running or working out.
I think I will be a good fit for the team because I put a lot of time and dedication into running all year round. As a captain of my team, I have been a huge role model for everyone. When I put my mind to something I absolutely love, there is nothing that will get in the way of creating a dream to run at the collegiate level.
