Personal Statement

Hi Coaches,

My name is  Bronwyn Eyeington. I am  5'7" , 124 lbs, 18 years of age and in my senior year at Suncoast Community High School (class of 2017).  Suncoast Community High School is well known for the  rigorous programs it offers, such as Computer Science, Math Science and Engineering, and the International Baccalaureate Program. Suncoast continually receives national recognition for these challenging academic programs, and over the years, has been ranked as one of the top 10 most challenging high schools in America. I am enrolled in the International Bacculeraette Program and am currently taking all AP/IB classes and have an overall 3.96 GPA and a 5.01 weighted GPA. I have been running seriously for a short 3 years and even though my times are most competitive and I have had success I strongly believe my best performances and times are still ahead of me. Prior to running  I played travel soccer for many years and competed on my high school team.

I look forward to running at the next level and am  excited to offer my services at both x-country and track events. Specialties include x-country,800m, 1600, 3200m and 800m relay. As a student at Suncoast High School, I fully understand what it takes and the sacrifices entailed to attain success both on the track and in the classroom. I assure any coach that I will give 100% effort and will make the school proud of my accomplishments both academically, athletically, and in the community.  My life to date has been about balancing athletics, education, and serving the community and I promise you, you can count on me.  I believe I would be an asset to any university.

I have had athletic success at the local, county, district, regional and state level. As my training evolves, so do my track and cross country times, and I believe my best is yet to come. In addition, I was the Suncoast High School Girls Varsity Cross Country Captain, and am planning on being a co-captain as well for this years upcoming track season. Whether at practice or at meets, I lead the team in warm-ups and cool downs and I try my best to encourage the girls cross country team to run hard. It is so wonderful being part of a team, where the people you train and compete with, become like family to you. Every day, you talk and laugh together and endure together the hard workouts for the day. Running has allowed me to meet so many special people, who have become my close friends/family. Being part of a team in college, where you can make life-lasting friendships would be incredible.

I desire to find a university that is well recognized as an academic leader, that will afford me the opportunity for higher education with the ultimate goal of making me career ready in my desired field of study. In addition, I look forward to competing athletically and would be thrilled to contribute in both cross country and track events. I feel comfortable stating that I am ready, willing and able to compete academically and athletically with success at the next level.

PS (Additional)- At the Suncoast High School Track on 5/12/2016 I ran a 5k in 18:41 hand-timed. I improved my time greatly and will continue to improve over the months leading up to cross country season. Also at the State Track Meet on 5/7/2016 I was timed at 2:26 for my leg of the 4x800 as well. I ran an 11:42   2 mile at Suncoast track on 11/8/2016.

Ran my first meet at Spanish River Invitational on September 9/17. I was happy with a 3rd place finish for first run of season. Look forward to building on this time as season progresses. Competed at States and Suncoast had strongest finish in school history in the tough 2a class.Suncoast girls had most successful season ever, winning  conference,2nd at counties,1st at districts,6th at regional and 10th at states.

I was fortunate to be selected to the All conference, all county and all area cross country teams.

Thanking you,

Bronwyn Eyeington
