I have not always been the fastest runner. I started running for fun in seventh grade, then joined the cross country team in eighth grade. I thoroughly enjoyed my progression from worst runner on the team to fifth worst. From there I continued with track, where I ran with girls that had been running for a while, and were faster then me. Seeing how fast they became pushed me to make myself faster. When I got to High school, I pushed myself and my cross country team to be the best we could be, which earned me second place on our team, and fourth in the region which meant an opportunity to attend the state meet. The following year we were second in our region, and I love continuing to push myself to reach a new personal record.
Because I attend a small school in a tiny town, we have little resources and not very experienced coaching staff. This challenged me to really push myself to reach the goals I set for myself. I look forward to a college coaching staff which can challenge me and help me reach my full potential as an athlete.
