My name is Charley Paulino and I am a student at Mid-Pacific Institute, class of 2026. I live by the saying “Keep going you’re only going to get stronger.” My persistence is the main reason why I have become a strong person, student, and athlete. In sports and athletics I push myself and those around me to know two definitions of quitting, if you feel compared to players who are better than you. You either quit because you don’t believe and have faith you can do it, or you’re quitting because it’s not benefiting you. I understand what it is like starting from the beginning of something entirely out of your comfort zone. I can either learn to like or love it. But being able to be exposed will only strengthen my adversity and who I am as an athlete and student. I don’t only enjoy physical fitness in sports but having a whole new imagination by reading. This activity can help me enhance my writing, memory and speaking skills. I will support my college with my intellectual and athletic ability. I not only will honor my future College but also where I am from. I am originally born and raised in Guam, which is apart of the Mariana Islands. Guam is a beautiful island with amazing people who live by family. I will always and forever represent my culture and my great accomplishments in life. I specifically will honor my father, Kyle Reyes, who was a born fighter. He had a major impact on my life by influencing me to never give up and push myself to its fullest potential. His legacy will forever remain. He would be so proud of the person I have become today and in the future. This is why I know that I am a great candidate for your team.
