My name is Leah Jean, and I am a proud 2025 graduate of Kanu O Ka ʻĀina. Track and field has been a significant part of my journey, shaping me into the dedicated and determined individual I am today. While my passion for track began in middle school, my path was interrupted when COVID-19 changed the course of many lives, including my own. However, my love for the sport never faded, and I made the conscious decision to return to it during my junior year.
My main events are the 100-meter and 200-meter sprints, with my personal bests being 13.46 seconds in the 100-meter and 28.35 seconds in the 200-meter. These times represent not only my physical abilities but also the dedication and effort I have put into refining my technique and improving my performance. I continue to push myself in training, striving to break personal records and elevate my competitive edge.
Through track, I have learned the importance of hard work, setting goals, and pushing past my limits. I carry these lessons beyond the track, applying them to my academic pursuits and personal aspirations. The journey has not always been easy, but each challenge has only strengthened my passion for the sport and my determination to succeed.
As I move forward, I am eager to continue developing my skills and competing at higher levels. Track has given me more than just speed and endurance—it has given me a mindset that embraces challenges and turns setbacks into motivation. I am excited for the opportunities ahead and am ready to push myself to new heights, both on and off the track.
