Lexi Gay '25 Recruiting Profile

 Hi my name is Lexi Gay and i’m currently a junior at Midvale highschool. Ever since I joined track in 6th grade I have had a special connection with running. When my coach asked me what I wanted to do, I instantly knew I wanted to do hurdles. He tried convincing me that it would be hard because he didn’t know how to do them, but I insisted on learning how. Fast forward to 2021 and I still didn’t have a coach that knew how to do hurdles. I researched and watched hundreds of videos on technique and tricks so that I could improve. I spent hours even after everyone else had left to practice and get my form perfect. My hard work payed off and I have now been district champion of the 100m hurdles my 9th and 10th grade year. I say this to then add that I have never needed someone to push me or tell me every step I need to do to get better. I have always been hard on myself because I know I have the potential to do great things. I am eager to learn and I am always trying to be the best version of myself. This is why I would make an amazing fit to your team.
