2022 Spotlight Personal Statement
I started running long distance during track my freshman year and instantly fell in love with the sport. When the season was cancelled because of COVID I continued running on my own and my passion for the sport grew. I made the difficult decision to switch from playing volleyball to running cross country during my sophomore year and had a very successful season. Since then I have kept up with my training, both in season and off season and continue to improve.
When I find something that I'm passionate about I am very dedicated, that shows in my athletic and academic progress. I'm dedicated to running and improving individually, but also to supporting my track and cross country teammates.
I'm looking for a college that will help to prepare me for a successful future career and a college track and cross country team that will help me to continue improving as a runner. I look forward to running at a collegiate level and growing both academically and athletically.
