Last semester I took a class called Sociology. It talked about various statuses and the roles attached to them. Before this class, I thought my master status (the core or center of your life) was a student because school is where I thought I spent most of my time, but after looking over my life, I realized that my master status was not just a student, but a student-athlete. From an early age, I can remember running, and with the help of all my coaches, mentors, family, and fellow teammates, the sport became my dedication, my stress release, and my comfort.
Throughout my years of school and the sport, I have been very determined and self-driven. I always strive for improvement and believe that I am very coachable and flexible (willing to run in any race I am put in). In the classroom, I am focused and take a majority of honors and AP courses. Since I am extremely active in my sports and extracurriculars, I have learned the ways of time management. Though, like most things, there's room for improvement. Both on and off the track I put 100% effort into every activity.
I want a college that will not only advance and further my academics but also continues to push me physically. This sport requires hard work and commitment and I'm a willing participant. I'm looking for a coach that can guide me through the world of collegiate track and field and not only push me but further my love of the sport.
