i've been running track since sophomore year i really didn’t know how to run professionally My junior year i did better still didn't know how to use my legs properly since i do have long legs .i ran in bad weather both years my junior year i made it to city championship in relay placed 5th out of all the schools we didn't win but to be at the top is a accomplishment my last meet was a heat meet which is your time had to qualify in order to run this meet .
Im proud because i ran with a pulled hamstring which means i really take track serious but i placed 2nd in my heat ,i ran 200 m around half the track at first i was fine when i first took off i was in front of everybody then towards the end with 100 left i felt all pain in my right leg which caused one person to get in front of me and i'm a very competitive person i was in pain and ready to give up but i pushed through i finished my 200m placing 2’nd and the time i got was 35.1 with being injured .
This situation. gave me motivation to push myself and come back stronger for my senior year with more wins. This taught me that I have the mind and ability to push through anything . Another situation that happened that taught me a lesson was when i left school for a month in a half due to me having surgery i was failing every class none of the teachers exempted me i had all F’s and when i came back the quarter was ending i was confused but i tried my hardest and brought my grades up in a week this situation taught me as long as i try it's a 50/50 chance i'll pass as long as u put your mind to it and try u can do anything.
Steve thomas my coach of 3 years have taught me a lot about track when i first put my name on the sheet to run track i was messing around had no attention on actually running track i missed the first 3 weeks coach saw me one day and said u coming to practice today i went once i went to the meets and ran i got serious about track and said okay this is something i wanna do this is who i wanna be and i locked in now i'm more serious than i ever been about running track and taking it far as olympics and running college track.
