Personal Statement

Winning second place in Class 1A Shotput as a Freshmen and Sophomore has given me the hunger to want to win first place the next 2 years. So, I was able to accomplish it this year as a Junior! Throwing the farthest in Shotput for all 3 classesin the state of Illinois. I am competing again this summer with Illinois Association of USATF and Team United States Athletics; winning Shotput and Discus for 78-18W. Although, I also really enjoy volleyball, basketball, softball and soccer; so far, I have seen my greatest success at Shotput. I am a Honors/ high honors student, being inducted to National Honor Society this month and recently inducted into National Thespians Honor Society. I am a class leader; Freshmen class co- president and Sophomore class Vice- president, Junior class President and now Senior Class President. I am a mentor for other students through BLIND Leadership, I have joined SADA, Key Club and Science Clubs last year, and remain active in Art Club, Robed Choir , Show Choir and Thespians while adding Band this year. I have traveled internationally last summer with Spanish Club to France and Spain and to Australia and Hawaii with Down Under Sports and with NSAF to Freeport,Bahamas to compete internationally. I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program!
