Hello, my name is Layla a Sophomore at Herscher High School. I fell in love with Track & Field in eighth grade, this season becoming my third year in the sport. I would love to continue my running career into the college level. Other than Track I am a first year Cross Country runner on the junior varsity team, and a second year powerlifter after placing second at state for the 105 pound weight class. Going into college I'm not too sure what I'd like to major in but my options are either in the medical field, writing field, or mental health field.
On the athletics side of things I feel as though I am a very coachable athlete who thrives off of feedback and criticism. I take my athletics seriously though that does not mean that I don't have fun. I love running with and cheering on my teammates. Without a supporting team, Track and Field would not really be the same. I want to bring my energy and love for the sport to the college level. I want to keep doing the thing that I love for as long as I can as this sport really is a team sport despite running individually. I hope that I can continue to run in the future and inspire others to keep enjoying Track & Field as well.
