Sport has always been an essential aspect of my life; I competed internationally for El Salvador's Olympic gymnastic team before doing track. However, in 2019 I decided to leave gymnastics and start doing a sport that captivated me entirely: track. These past four years have taught me so much and changed my complete view of the way I see my athletic career, which is why I aspire to continue training and studying at the collegiate level.
Being an athlete has taught me not only to care for my marks or scores but it has allowed me to meet national and international athletes, which has influenced the way I live life. Furthermore, by meeting athletes from different parts of the world, I have come to appreciate them by what makes them unique: their culture. Thus, allowing me to support my learning of diversity and helping me become internationally-minded and gain long-lasting friendships.
Throughout my athletic and academic career, I have tried to consider new ways of exploring principles, making me stand out my curiosity about knowledge areas I had yet to explore in depth.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the track. I am open to all options and want to find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers and make my parents proud.
I am proud of all the athletic awards and records I have achieved in 4 years; regardless of my talent, I have to declare that I am currently standing because of God’s mercy with me.
All that I am is because of him and for him, and I believe that winning all these recognitions has made me realize God’s love in my life. Therefore, no matter where I end up or if I reach all my dreams, I will always be thankful to God for allowing me to be upstanding in what I love: track and field.
