Sara Jury '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi coaches, 

I am Sara Jury, I attend Hamilton Girls High School and have been running since May 2020. I have always had a passion for sports, taking part in many different sports such as Netball, Basketball, Touch Rugby, Squash, Hokey, Skiing, Gymnastics, and of course running. I started running to get fit for my other sports and fell in love with running and never looked back, I became more competitive and realized my strongest event is middle to long distance. I run on the school's Cross country and Track and field team as well as the Hamilton Hawks club in Hamilton. I really feel lt as if I have a lot more potential as every time I ran a race last year I got a PB, so am very excited for next season to see what I can accomplish. Some of my goals are to break 10 minutes in the 3000m and run sub 4:40 for the 1500m this season.

As much as I value my sports career I still value my academics just as much. I attend a school the GPA scale is out of 4, my goal is to get my GPA score to 3 or higher. My long-term academic goal is to attend a top university to provide me with high-quality education and experience. 

I am a driven competitive student-athlete and a compassionate caring teammate, who can balance both school and academics with athletics. I strive to reach maximum potential with my athletics, as well as be the best person I can be by taking in every opportunity thrown at me.
