I am a rising senior at Dupont Manual High School. I have been competing in track and field since I was 7 years old. I tried multiple sports as a young child, but I never loved any of them as much as I love track. I have competed at a high level since the day I first set foot on the track. I have 7 individual high school state championships across all 3 sprints (100m, 200m, 400m). I am a 12-time All-American on the AAU and USATF summer track circuits. I am a fierce competitor and I work extremely hard when I set foot on the track. I pride myself on being the hardest working athlete possible. I am most proud of having been a member of 3 straight team championships and anchoring a winning 4x400m relay team.
Ultimately, I desire to compete collegiately in track and field in a program that is going to help me develop further and reach my goals while also being part of a program committed to competing and excelling as a team. I want to be part of a program and with coaches that have a record of developing sprinters and I would like to attend a school that has an engineering program which is my academic area of interest.
I have learned over the years that competing in track and field takes discipline, sacrifice and willingness to be uncomfortable at times. I’ve experienced highs and lows and it has taught me when to speak up, when to listen and when to trust myself and others. I look forward to continuing to grow in the sport.
