Hi, my name is Aaliyah Anaskevich and I am currently a senior at Abbott Lawrence Academy. I have started doing cross country/track and field since 5th grade. Initially, I only participated in the sport as something to help improve my stamina and endurance for basketball. However, cross country quickly grew to be my main focus and aspiration to become the best. Part of my personal connection with sports is rooted down from my consistency to improve through strenuous workouts as well as the addiction to compete and become better than my last PR. The other part stems from the everlasting connections with my coaches or peers who have taught me life lessons that will be ingrained in me forever. I apply the same indefatigable work to my academics and running. I will always give it my all even if I may be mentally tired or physically strained. In the classroom I strive to take the most challenging classes, such as AP's or dual enrollment classes at Merrimack College, that will tickle my curiosity to learn more. While on the track, I am encouraged to be a leader to the rest of my teammates who motivates everyone through their cruelest days or supports them on the happiest days. In college, I plan to major in Forensic Science to achieve my dream profession as a Forensic Medical Examiner. I also want to be part of a varsity cross-country team that will lead me to continue running as a profession.
