One of the events in my life that I have to be most proud of is going to States for indoor track and field for the first time. I have participated in track and field for almost six years now. Qualifying for States has always been a goal that I have dedicated a big part of my life to reaching. For many years I've only competed in outdoor track. It never even crossed my mind to ever do indoor track until my senior year of high school when my coach asked me about the opportunity. I was going to join basketball as I have played the past three years, but I decided why not get some extra training to be more prepared for the outdoor spring season. I’m proud of the decision I made for myself for taking the daring step into a new, for me, world of track and field. Despite having struggles throughout the season, I overlooked everything and jumped into the opportunity to become a better athlete, and I was rewarded with a spot in states for track and field for the first time ever.
I can honestly say that I'm very proud of my accomplishments in this sport, and in the next five years I can still see myself competing in it while also getting my degree in veterinary medicine at Michigan State University. I can also see myself being very successful and propelling myself into a field of work that pushes me to my full potential and involves my love of animals.
