Personal Statement

As cliché as it may sound, my dream has always been to be a pro athlete. Ever since I was a child sports have been a huge part of my life. I thrived on seeing how they could add so much enjoyment and excitement to a persons life. Having something that you can wake up everyday dedicated to doing is amazing to me. I remember watching the Olympics with my family growing up and it just furthered my love for sports. Seeing how determined these athletes were to reaching a goal many have had since they were children too was beyond me. Sports bring people together, and I knew if I could be any way, shape or form a part of helping in that I planned on it!

I started running Track in seventh grade and since then it has become the biggest part of my life. I eat, sleep, and breathe track. Running let’s me be who I am in way that’s all my own. I determine the outcome of a race, it’s up to me if I will win or lose and that feeling is what drives me to become better and better! I was Captain of both my seventh and eighth grade teams, and always a top runner. When I started high school I was introduced to Cross Country, I ran Varsity my Freshman year and Junior Year. I was also our team Captain Junior year. My Sophomore year I played Volleyball which is the same time as Cross Country at my school. As for Track, this will be my third year on our Varsity team. I am one of our team captains and one of our top point scorers on my team and don’t plan for that to change.

I am one of the most determined and hard working people you will ever meet! Besides giving it my all on the Track, I also do so in my school work.  I work hard to maintain a high GPA and have earned many academic achievements. I am also involved within school activities and currently have been accepted as part of our schools National Honor Society.

I plan on attending College, whether it be as a student, or a student- athlete. I am open for anything thrown at me, and hope to be an influence on people. I want to show that no matter who you are, anything is possible to be achieved with hard work and dedication to what you love the most.
