I am a driven, passionate, and dedicated candidate that you can always trust to work hard on and off the track. I have dedicated much of my life to using my resources for developing into the best athlete I can be. This past year alone, I demonstrated my dedication through driving myself to Minneapolis and surrounding cities every week in order to get competition in before my school season began, and even became completely vegetarian on a strict, plant based diet in order to put myself in the best possible condition for my highest level of performance.
Throughout my varsity experience, I have trained and/or competed in 6 of the 7 heptathlon events including 100mHH, 200m dash, 800m run, LJ, HJ, and SP. Because of this, I know that I would excel in the heptathlon as a college athlete because I already have a strong foundation in almost every event. I also believe that I have tons of room left to grow as an athlete. Living with winters 6-9 months of the year, I have felt restricted when it comes to training for track and field. Although I have done my best by conditioning intensely during the off-season and traveling to different states for meets, I am confident that organized, year round training in successful and hard working environments will significantly improve my marks. In order to prepare for the intensity of collegiate track and field, I have competed in USATF and AAU track meets during months ranging from December to August on top of multiple fall and winter sports to keep me in shape.
I currently have a 4.28 GPA and plan to pursue a degree in Business Administration. My academics are extremely important to me as I have maintained a top 5% class rank with a class composition full of APs and other enriched courses. I am searching for a school that will challenge me athletically and academically. In regards to location, I am highly interested in attending college in a southern or western state such as Texas or California, but I will take all states into consideration.
As an athlete, I will bring more to your team than athleticism. Enthusiasm, dedication, mental and physical strength, compassion, and motivation are just a few qualities that make me an outstanding teammate and remarkable athlete to coach. I am always the first to make new friends at meets, but I know how to stay focused and competitive. I am prepared to do whatever it takes in order to reach my highest potential, and competitive collegiate track and field is my next goal.
