Hello Coaches!
My name is Carly Cutrone. Running has changed my life in the best way possible. As an athlete my collegiate goals are to work towards becoming an outstanding athlete while being introduced to new life skills and academic majors. I aspire to better my times, dominate races, and show other runners how success can look. I take my training extremely serious, and I feel it is key to having the right mindset when working towards my goals. The main thing about myself that I feel would make me a good candidate for a team is my sportsmanship. Whether I have the best or worst race of my life I am always sure to congratulate the other runners on their race. Just because I may not have had my strongest race doesn't mean I need to hinder others of their great success and hard work. What makes me different from other recruits in this sport industry is that I have true dedication to everything I do. Commitment is one of my greatest strengths. If I am given a task, I will commit to that task and make sure it is completed no matter the circumstances. Being able to go from playing all levels of soccer for almost my entire childhood to completely starting fresh and take on running and earning the times I have already ran with only a full year of training is a huge personal accomplishment. I have ran two half marathons (1:32.34 personal best for 13.1) in the past year and a half and this is only the beginning for my distance runs. Aside from my character and athletics, my academics are my top priority. I am in multiple honors societies (English and History), I am apart of the National Honors Society and The Leadership Academy in my High School. I receive Honor Roll each marking period and never let life challenges become an excuse for poor grades. I make sure there is a fair balance between athletics and academics.
