I've always had a passion for sports. As a multi-sport athlete, I've gained valuable insights through my experiences in Track and Field, Field Hockey, and Taekwondo. Each sport has left a lasting impression, teaching me essential life lessons and providing unforgettable experiences. Hockey emphasized the significance of teamwork over individual performance, while Taekwondo instilled values like respect, integrity, and discipline.
From 2011 to 2020, I wholeheartedly dedicated myself to martial arts, even surpassing my academic focus at times. By 2018, I achieved the position of an instructor at United Taekwondo Center, allowing me to share my passion for the sport with others.
Since starting middle school, my passion for throwing as a sport has only grown stronger. I wanted to connect with my father's legacy through sports, as he was a state and nationally ranked javelin thrower. Following my father's footsteps, I began track in 2020, starting with sprints but eventually discovering my true calling in throwing events. Now, I can't imagine my life without shot put and discus. The experience of throwing has instilled in me the values of sportsmanship and teamwork. It has taught me that success isn't just about winning; it's about the journey, the effort, and the determination to improve and succeed.
I've always put in the hard work and effort needed to succeed, whether on the field or in the classroom. I firmly believe in the saying, "success does not come before work, except in the dictionary." My commitment to academics, including honors and college-level courses, reflects my drive to major in Bioscience or Biotechnology, with the goal of making a tangible impact on the world.
In addition to my athletic pursuits, I am deeply committed to exerting maximum effort and contributing to the community, amassing numerous service hours and receiving presidential awards. I derive immense satisfaction from engaging in community service and derive great fulfillment from it. I derive great joy from tutoring others in academics, sharing the knowledge I have acquired. Moreover, I hold the position of vice president in my school's W.I.S.H program, where we engage in activities aimed at aiding the elderly and individuals with genetic and/or degenerative diseases. Through this organization, I actively educate peers and colleagues about assisting the elderly and those with such conditions. This not only benefits these individuals, but also has a profound impact on my own life. Engaging in these activities is something I eagerly anticipate every weekend.
