I wish to go to a highly academic school, preferably near city with a great track team to continue my athletic career. I would be a good candidate for any team because I take track very seriously and am extremely dedicated to the sport, but I also take school very seriously and have managed to balance the two to maintain high grades and improve myself as an athlete. I started track just to lose weight towards the end of freshman, but I officially started running and competing in my sophomore year. My ability to improve tremendously over such short periods of time is what I think makes me the most different. I started hurdles in the winter season of my sophomore year and by the middle of the spring season in my sophomore year, I already became the fastest 400 hurdler on my team, surpassing all of the seniors. Along with that, in winter, when I started 55 hurdles, I could never 3-step more than 3 hurdles; however once spring started and I had to run through 10 hurdles, I somehow managed to 3-step all 10 hurdles at the first official meet that season. Now, a year later in my junior year, I broke the school record for 100 hurdles. This just shows how I always break past limits and push my body to it’s fullest. I never settle and I’m always looking for ways I can better myself in every event that I do, and that hard work and commitment definitely pays off. With academics, I go to a vocational school and have to go to the town school afterwards to attend practice. I think I’ve kept up with this although it’s challenging because I am also very dedicated to my school work, getting my diploma and in the end getting my degree. In school, I am always challenging myself with high level classes and always give my best in school.
