Kiara Spencer '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Kiara Spencer. Born and raised in Jamaica, I grew up in a small community in the ghetto. I moved to the United States in 2022 for better opportunities and more benefits. My hobbies consist of cooking and acting. One of my many great talents that I take a lot of pride in is javelin throwing.

I started throwing javelin in the spring of this year. At first, I was doubtful that it wouldn’t be an area I would work best in but going to competitions against other schools and ranking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd made me realize that this is the event I belong in. Like any other sporting event, javelin requires motivation and skill but also passion. I am passionate about this sport and have always felt at peace whenever I hold that stick in my hand.

As a student, I am also very passionate about my academics and always up for the challenge of setting the bar higher than the last. Recently, I graduated from Trenton Central High School as an honor student. I credit that to using full force and working diligently to the best of my abilities. 

Characteristics such as bringing energy and positivity to the field and the team are essential and I carry those traits efficiently. No matter how many times I fail, I get back up and try again until I get it right. I would like to be considered for these opportunities as I would really make use of them to stand out and excel. I am a very determined and independent individual. Anything I put my mind to, I will definitely pull through and I won’t allow anything to interfere with my future and my goals.
