From being injured during my indoor season of sophomore year to winning sectionals and making it to state qualifiers during my outdoor season that same year it has formed me into the athlete I am today. Going from not being very interested my 8th grade year and having all the coaches tell me I have potential, my freshman year I finally listened and fell in love with the sport. Making it to states my junior year I have evolved as an athlete by learning from my own mistakes and taking in what I can learn from athletes at a higher level.
Being in the sport for almost 5 years now I have been able to learn life lessons in the process. Such as when you are competing there is no guarantee that you will win. You have to fight for that spot at the top. It has taught me patience is key and your time will eventually come. I have learned that you need to be fully committed to the sport you love. Track and throwing is that for me. I see myself growing as an athlete in my college years in track. I know I will be representing my team on and off the field and I'll strive to represent them with respectful and responsible actions.
