I am a Senior in high school this coming year! As a student athlete who attends a small school with graduating classes of under 90 students I realize that my success in high school may not compare to my success through college. Through noticing this I realize I have to take matters into my own able hands. This past year in school I talked to my coach about a program I can join to run year round because my school does not offer an indoor program. We are currently in the process of joining a summer program as well as creating a winter program under the hospitality of neighboring schools.
I am a considerably hard working and diligent student who cares deeply about their grades. I rarely miss a day of school, if I do it is due to sickness and a chance to run at practice. I look to better support new members of my team by teaching them what I know personally and helping them as much as I can because I myself have been there. I qualified for my schools varsity team in 7th grade, shortly after making the cut COVID-19 struck the world sending us all into quarantine. Through this extra time I practiced as much as I could in my backyard. 8th grade year I had lots of success with qualifying times for my region which carried on into qualifying times for sectionals! This past season I had lots of difficulties in my way from getting covid for the first time, to injuring my back and knees, to getting sick for a second time. Even through my sicknesses and injuries I still tried my best to stay fit.
l qualified for New York State D2 State Qualifiers in Newark for my 100mh race and placed 13th
