Maddie Guerrera '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Madison Guerrera. I am a senior at St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School in West Islip, NY. I was first introduced to track & field at summer camp in 2016. At the time, I was only 9 but that is when my love for the sport began. I started training for hurdles when I was in 8^th grade and continued to work hard to reach maximum potential. What sets me apart is my unwavering work ethic, demonstrated even when no one is watching.  My time at St. Johns has been marked by exceptional achievements in Track & Field, showcasing my talent and determination. I currently hold the school records for 55mH, 60mH, and 100mH. I received MVP, All-League, and All-State awards for 2024 winter and spring track. In addition to track & field, I am also a 3-year starter for Varsity soccer. I have been awarded captain for the 2023 season due to my leadership skills and coachable personality. Alongside my athletic pursuits, I study hard and maintain strong academic standing, a testament to my commitment to excellence. I am constantly setting goals for myself and practicing mindfulness activities to help me reach these goals. Coming from a very large, hardworking family, I understand the value of seizing opportunities rather than waiting for them to be given.
