As a freshman, I felt unstoppable, achieving personal bests every race, crushing every workout, and always having motivation. However, this is not realistic, and I soon learned that during my sophomore year, as I continued to work hard but saw no results. As I saw the goals I had set for myself drift further from me, my motivation began to slip away too, and I suddenly was unable to finish any race without fainting. This lasted for over a year, and while it was the toughest year of my life, it was also the most important, as it taught me the value of commitment, teamwork, and leadership.
Whether I am in the classroom or outside running, those are the three core principles that I live by daily, and I believe that I will thrive in any program that holds the same values. As a three sport athlete, captain of the cross country team, and a SALT leader (student athletic leadership team), I know that I can bring leadership skills, work-ethic, and positivity to any program I am apart of.
