I have been running track since my sophomore year of high school. These past two years of running have been fun but I had begin to feel as if it wasn’t going to go anywhere. At my fourth to last track meet of my junior year I tried running the 300m hurdles for the first time ever. I fell and tore a hole in my pants but got back up and finished with a time of 59.34. At conference I would compete again placing 13th in the region, and at regionals I would finish in 10th place with a time of 52.99. This gave me hope. My willingness to try new things and the constant effort that I put into it all let me know that I could do anything. This same effort that I put into track goes into my academics work as well. My freshman year ended with many failed classes due to COVID and struggles at home. I was no longer the high achieving student that I once was. But since then I've bounced back. Coming from a 2.7 GPA to a 4.0. I may not be the best at everything that I do but my willingness to work towards being the best no matter the obstacle is what makes me great!
