I began running when I was in middle school. I joined the "Girls on the Run" Club and immediately fell in love with running. I joined cross country during my 7th grade year and had so much fun. However, Covid - 19 hit during what should've been my 7th grade track season. I used this time to train super hard for the 8th grade cross country season. That year I went from an 17:32 2 mile time to a 14:02 2 mile.
Transitioning to my first year of HS my times dropped even more. My Freshman 5k PR was a 21:37. I trained even more during the off season and was able to secure a 5:31 in the 1600M and 2:25 in the 800M. My 800M time was fast enough to go to Regionals in 2022. Later that year I dropped more time off my 5k to about 19:57. I also advanced to Regionals in 2022 for the cross country season.
In 2023, my times plateaued. I ran a 2:35 in the 800M and 5:40 in the 1600M. My cross country 5k was hanging around 21:46. However, I am taking the off season very seriously and hope to see more improvement this track season! Even though my times have plateaued, I'm not willing to give up. I'm a very hard worker and very determined to reach my goals. I hope to make it to regionals again my senior year and maybe get 19:30 or below in my 5k time. I also hope to run in college and be the best athlete that I can be.
