Personal Statement

My name is Isla Beroske, and I'm a current Junior at Middle Park High School in Fraser, CO. I am looking to compete at the collegiate level for track. I've been a track varsity athlete for the past 2 years at Evergreen High School in Ohio, and have ran track a couple years before then. I've helped bring our 4x100 team to districts as a freshman in 2024, our 4x200 team to the indoor state championship in 2024, as well as running the 100 at Districts in 2024. My sophomore year, our 4x100 team made it to regionals and placed 6th. For the majority of the meets I've ran at, I've placed at least top 5 in many of my events. My goal for the next year is to beat 13 seconds in the 100, and be better at running the 200. I am very motivated and determined when it comes to accomplishing a goal of mine and or striving to be a better person/athlete every day. I am very sociable as well as very coachable. When asked to do something, I try my hardest to get it done on time and done to the best of my ability. In addition, I am very good at communication and cooperation. It is my goal to make the people around me feel secure and comfortable whether it's my teammates or the athletes I'm running up against. I believe that with my positive mentality and competitiveness, I make a great athlete no matter the position. As for my path after high school, I would love to earn a spot on a collegiate team where I can further my academic and running career. I would like to join a program where the girls' and guys' teams are close and are willing to help me through every step of my running career while majoring in either law or psychology.
