I just began running again for the first time in 2 years. Although I've never run HS track I am very familiar with the sport as my father was an NCAA II Track and Field coach. I am planning on running track for the first time following cross country this fall and plan on training year round. I run 30 miles a week with a normal long session of 7. Two speed workouts and 1 race per week is a typical training block.
I think I have a very high upside as my training age is very young. I've probably "trained" for 16-17 total months since 2020.
Goals for college would be to run low 18's on the track during my freshman year with training focused on the 6k (XC) & 10k distances.
