I've always been the "athlete" in our family. I played soccer from a young age starting in rec leagues and then playing on some smaller clubs (less travel). I was always the fastest girl out there and played forward or "target" and scored a lot of goals for my teams. I played middle school and my first two years of high school, but due to a series of concussions (I get after it) I decided to step away from playing soccer. I have managed the team the last two years, earning a letter all four years.
I have run track a number of years also, my on field speed translating directly to sprints of course. I have run both our 4x100, and 4x200 relays, often being the anchor. I also ran 100 and 200 as solo events. My sophomore season our 4x100 team won Div III regionals and went to states, with me as the anchor. My junior season this past spring, I was bigger, stronger and faster, and I was on track to post some solid 100 and 200 times, as well as our relay teams qualifying for states as well. About two weeks before regional meets I suffered an ACL and slight meniscus tear playing powderpuff football (I said I get after it lol) and missed the rest of the season. My teammates went on to qualify for states again. My 100 times if improved over season would have possibly squeaked me into states as well, again at Div III. I was a captain for last years team, and will be a captain this year as well.
I had surgery in June, and I am ahead of schedule on my PT and recovery and will be running again come Feb/March. Looking forward to a great senior season and future in college. I also work part time, enjoy vacationing with my family, and love the outdoors.
