My name is Emily Stefan. I am 5’6’’, 140 lb, competitive, passionate, and committed track and field sprinter and jumper (60,100, 200, long jump, 4x100, and the occasional fill-in for the 4x400). I just completed my sophomore season at West Albany High School. Throughout this past season I have been able to experience many amazing opportunities, and I’m definitely looking forward to the next two years. This past season did not turn out as expected although I did hit some lofty personal bests along the way. (200- 26.23, 100- 12.64, long jump- 5.01m) At my district meet I came short of qualifying for the state meet by placing third in the 200 and fourth in the 100. Along with my 4x100m relay team placing third as well. Although with being in one of the most competitive districts I was able to earn wild cards for all of my events. (100,200, and 4x100) I took those wild cards and contributed to our women’s team placing third overall at the state meet. It has been amazing competing against some of the best in the state. I have been able to really test my mental and physical abilities this season, and yet there is still more to come. This summer I competed in the USATF Oregon Association Junior Olympics, USATF Region 13 Championships, and the DownUnder Sports Track and Field Championships in Queensland, Australia. I am excited to keep the momentum going from high school. I have many goals for my future that I continue to work hard for. Having something to work for, something pushing me, and inspiring me really helps me keep doing what I love. As of now I am finishing up my sophomore year of highschool and continuing my search for potential colleges. I am keeping my eyes and ears open for opportunities.
