Hi! I am looking forward to running cross country and distance track in college. My sophomore year in high school, I fully committed to what I loved and ran both cross country as well as competing and practicing my three events in rodeo (goat tying, breakaway roping, and barrel racing). I also decided to run track for the first time ever, with the main intention of staying in shape for the next cross country season, and am so glad I did. I gained a new passion and love for improving my speed and technique, as well as the drive to work hard and to trust the work that I put in.
Rodeo and training for cross country and track are all interests of mine that I commit to year round, and I have learned so much about myself in the process of putting equal effort in all. I have learned how to manage my time with practices and school, how to properly fuel, train, and recover myself and my horses, and how to ensure that whatever I do will benefit my future. I have also learned how to set realistic and attainable goals to achieve what will help me progress. When in college, I want to focus on running and see how great I truly could be with the incredible resources, coaches, and training that are available. I am proud of how I have been able to succeed in my sports as well as academics, and look forward to doing the same in my last years in high school and in college.
