I started my athletic career when I was 4 years old on the soccer field. I played on a local club team for several years and then on a travel team and eventually a premier travel team. I started as a freshman on my high school soccer team and earned a varsity letter. My plan was to go to college and play soccer. Then in the spring of my freshman year I joined the outdoor track and field team. I loved it, and I had immediate success. The first time I competed in the 1600m run I broke my school’s freshman record for the 1600 m run. I broke the school record several times during the season.
I continued to run through the summer and come fall of my sophomore year I had to decide between soccer and cross country. I chose cross country and I’ve never looked back. I set school and course records in cross country. I even set a Mifflin County record for the first girl to run a 5 k in under 19 minutes. I made it to the state championships and placed higher than any other girl in school history. My success continued into indoor track and I made it to states in the mile. Unfortunately, my sophomore outdoor track season was over before it started due to COVID-19, but this has only fueled my fire for the upcoming cross country season.
I am dedicated and work hard at my training all year long on the track and in the weight room. I love the challenge of running, the way running makes me feel, the success that it brings me, and most of all because running is fun. I am not only gifted in my running shoes but also in the classroom. I have maintained a 4.0 throughout my first two years of high school. Thank you for showing an interest in me. I look forward to talking to you.
