Personal Statement
Ever since Middle school, when I first tried the high and long jump, I have had a passion for the sport. I lost my freshman year to Covid and was devasted but ecstatic when my sophomore season came around. I learned what to expect from the sport and how to perform my best. I went to Leagues, Districts, and was just shy of states. Since I am a multi-event athlete (100m HH, 300m IH, long jump, high jump, and occasional 400m), one of the biggest lessons I have learned is that if one event doesn't go your way, you have other events that can. Something I have stuck to is "You have 10 seconds. 10 seconds to feel everything from that event". This quote will shape the next two seasons. It allows me to forget about fluke jumps or poor executions in an event so that I can focus on the positives in upcoming events. I also learned the true value of teamwork and leadership.
As for academics, I plan to keep all of my grades as A's (93-100) as well as complete college credits over the summer after my junior and senior years. For college, I am looking for somewhere that has a Biology major with, preferably, a pre-medicine concentration. I am always looking to be challenged, whether that is in classes, sports, or clubs. With that being said, my overall goal is to become a trauma surgeon where I am presented with challenges every day.
