Running is a sport I have participated in my entire life but did not truly develop the love and commitment for until the summer of 2022. After the 2022 track season, and my 1600 PR of 6:50, along with an 800 freshman year PR of 3:06, my dedication to the sport did a 360. I made the decision in July 2022 to train hard. I knew with my strong work ethic and running genetics given by my father's family, I could catch up to my competitors. After training 6 days, for almost a year now, I have removed 1 minute and 27 seconds off my 1600 time. I have also removed 83 seconds of my 800m time. I went into the 2022 fall cross country season with more than a minute PR and ended the season with an additional 2 minutes shaved off the start of the season.
With less than a year of training hard under me, I have been fortunate enough to earn the top times in the state. I can only imagine what more years will do for me, espically with a colleges helpful and knowlegable atmoshere. My school does not have a track, or a head distance coach. This gives me even more hope for what the future holds. As the 2023 Trinity Collegiate Female Athlete of the Year, along with Track and Field MVP, and Varsity Track and Cross Country captain, I know that with collegiate coaches and a true running area, my times will only continue to drop. With this I know I have what it takes to bring my skills to your team!
