Hallie Collins ru...Running is my happy place. The track is where I feel at home and I love the various courses when running cross country. I have been the only Varsity cross country athlete at my school for the past two seasons, but I look forward to next season knowing I have other athletes hoping to compete as well. I love putting in the hard work and then when it's time to compete you get to see the results of your hard work.
I have high hopes of competing at the collegiate level in track as well as cross country. My ultimate goal is to compete at the Olympics. I know these are big goals, but I feel like setting big goals is how you achieve greatness. I am blessed with a family that fully supports my commitment to athletics as well as my academics. I know to be able to compete I must stay focused in the classroom as well. I am currently ranked at the top of my class in academics. I am excited to see my improvement in the next couple of years as I get closer to graduating high school and continuing my running career in college.
My freshman year of high school (2023), I was able to win the State Cross Country Championship. My sophomore year (2024), I was Runner-Up at the State Cross Country Championship. This track season was drastically different due to a fluke leg injury that sidelined me for the beginning of the season. After healing from a fractured leg, my endurance for the longer races was not where it needed to be to compete in the long/mid distance races. There was an opening on our sprint relay teams so I focused on speed training and had a blast! It was a successful season overall as our relay team won the State Championship in the 4x100m relay and took second in the 4x200m relay. Being a member of the relay team proved to be a great experience and I feel helped me become a stronger all around athlete after this season. This was a fun experience to tap into my sprint ability and I am looking forward to returning to cross country training this summer to push for another championship in the upcoming season.
