I can vividly remember the first time I went out on a "real run." It must have been quite the seen for the people passing by, as the sound of my loud breathing (very aching of a wheeze) and visible fatigue would have given just about anyone a laugh. Yet, I have never been one for mediocrity, and with each mounting day, things seemingly got better. My freshman year I joined cross country without truly knowing much about the sport, and it is here thus where my journey began. I gradually fell in love with the sport as each new workout, each trip out of town, and every meet brought a new experience. Every day, I wake up striving to perform at the very best of my ability. The desire to constantly improve has always kept me going; and when I step on the starting line, I like competing with myself (my past times). Some days are better than others, yet that is simply how life is. I try to be my best "self" in all aspects of life. As a person, I enjoy challenging activities; be it in school or sports, there is always an opportunity to learn from such rigorous undertakings. This is why I have opted to take many advanced courses in high school, and why I would like to continue my learning and running at the higher level.
