Personal Statement
My name is Logan Prater and I am a 5'5" 132 lb. female. I am a junior. I am involved in track, basketball, softball, and powerlifting. My greatest athletic accomplishment so far is my 2x journey to the state track meet in Austin, Tx where I received a bronze medal in the 200m dash my freshman and in my sophomore year a gold medal in long jump, a silver medal in both triple jump and the 100m hurdles, a bronze medal in the 200m dash, and i placed 5th in the 100m dash. I was so excited to score 38 points at state and my team of 2 participants earned 2nd overall at the state meet! I was very excited to reach many PRs during this track season. I have a passion for track and field. I run the 200m dash and the 100m hurdles and I broke my school’s record in the triple jump, the 100m hurdles, the 100m dash and long jump. I have learned a lot from my coaches and some of my other teammates. I am involved in UIL, FCCLA, FCA, NHS, and I took a teen leadership class in 8th grade. I am also a CNA and I would say that becoming a certified nurses aide at 16 is another accomplishment that made me so proud. I would really like to be a college athlete and compete on the college level because I would love to participate in sports in college. I have a competitive nature. I am good with teamwork and want to continue to grow in my athletic abilities. I am from a small town in Texas. I moved one year to a larger 6A city and was surprised by my ability to compete at that level. I compete to my competition and am working on focusing to learn to compete for time. My other achievements in my past 2 years were 2nd team all-district in basketball as a freshman and sophomore on varsity, 1st team all district center field and Academic all-district in softball, and I am also a regional qualifier for powerlifting and was ranked 4th in the region my freshman year and 2nd in the region my sophomore. I am excited to see how far I can go and how much I can accomplish athletically and academically.
