Personal Statement
The title of a student-athlete has permanently endowed me with a great responsibility to excel in academics and athletics. This responsibility also defined my character by redefining my perspective on perseverance, work ethic, and community. My journey to becoming a runner has always been strongly intertwined with the sheer joy that running has always brought me, and through my dedication to the sport I have further bound my passions to cross country and track. From the bond that my teammates and I developed in breakfasts and dinners, I planned to prepare us for a race, support my fellow athletes during practices to push beyond the mental difficulty of running, and leading a school-wide beautification project with the xc girls to promote excellence in sports, my journey in athletics has always been connected to my intense desire to see others succeed. This aspect of my character is what further distinguishes me in academics and sports and along with my strong focus and determination to always push myself to succeed, I am certain I would contribute to a prosperous team.
